Why I joined MURA: I founded MURA with Ekam this summer in hopes to create an open environment where students interested in research or science in general could discuss medical topics and have the chance to network, gain knowledge, and build communication skills. Starting a new club was intimidating, but it is extremely rewarding to give students without research experience a chance to gain the necessary skills to obtain a research position in the future.

I am a third year psychology and neuroscience major and my favourite classes are calculus and organic chemistry.

Why I joined MURA: I decided to begin this club with Michelle because with COVID-19 changing everything and reducing opportunities, I felt that it really puts us, as current science undergrads, at a disadvantage. I also thought that this club would be an excellent way to develop new skills and just learn new things about medical research during the lockdown earlier this year.

Why I joined MURA: I joined in hopes to be apart of a club that is based around a field I am interested in. I liked the idea of meeting new people in all different types of science based courses!

Why I joined MURA: I joined MURA to meet more people who were also interested in the medical field and research. I wanted to gain skills in order to get more involved in research in the future.

Why I joined MURA: I saw an opportunity where I could be apart of a new and upcoming club that has a great future ahead of it. Since research opportunities are difficult to get into i wanted to join a club where we can help others get exposed to research and help them get the experience they needed.

Why I joined MURA: I saw this as a great opportunity to gain some experience and knowledge in the research field and also this was a great way to meet new people that are interested in the same field as me.

Why I Joined MURA: I joined MURA because as a student in this field, it’s a great opportunity to explore my options, expand my knowledge and skills in research study, and meet others who share the same interest. Also, I joined because I want to make it less intimidating and more fun for those searching for a research position as it can be very challenging.

Why I Joined MURA: I joined MURA because of my passion for research. Research is the key to unlocking the mysteries of our universe and biological process by which our bodies and life itself is governed. By working alongside MURA I am able to strengthen not only my research abilities, but I am able to share this knowledge with those interested in this field as well!
